Site Reliability Engineer – Ruby on Rails

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and availability of our software systems in production environments.

Responsibilities

•  Design and implement systems and processes to ensure the reliability of our software systems, with a focus on automation and proactive measures to prevent incidents
•  Develop and maintain automated tools and processes for deployment, monitoring, and incident response
•  Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and resilient architectures for new systems
•  Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise in production, working closely with development and support teams to identify and resolve root causes
•  Conduct performance analysis and optimization of systems to ensure efficient use of resources
•  Participate in on-call rotation for production support
•  Continuously improve processes and systems to increase reliability, scalability, and availability

Requirements

•  Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Production Engineer, or similar role
•  Expertise in Ruby on Rails
•  Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Experience with Heroku is a plus.
•  Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
•  Familiarity with monitoring tools like New Relic and Datadog
•  Strong understanding of Linux systems and networking
•  Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
•  Excellent communication and collaboration skills
